  • Abstract
The paper tests the quality of the 3-D triangular meshes obtained with the algorithm which combines Delaunay triangulation and the advancing front method (AFT). The AFT is used only for point generation. Provided that boundary surface of the triangulated domain is covered with triangles oriented inward the considered domain, the internal points are consecutively inserted over boundary triangles in the way, which takes into account a mesh size function. The point to be inserted will not be accepted if it is too close to the front. This is the characteristic feature of the algorithm. When all internal points have been generated then a Delaunay triangulation algorithm is applied. Finally, the quality of the created mesh is evaluated.
