Abstract :
In spite of increased number of measurements PHMT algorithm is preferred for underwater multi target tracking because of properties like linearly increased computational complexity, ability to take more than one measurement for a target at a sampling time. Another important point of PMHT is its flexible and easily modifiable model. Underwater target tracking algorithms generally use range and bearing information for tracking. In sonar systems amplitude information is one of the outputs of signal processing and is used for declaring the target detection. According to different studies in literature amplitude information helps to solve the problem of target measurement ambiguity which is caused by highly cluttered underwater multi target tracking. Echo amplitude information is applied to the PHMT algorithm and the performance results are given in this paper.
