Abstract
The authors have previously dealt with spectral efficiency issues, discussing the problems related to their proper definition and evaluation in order to find out which aspects are relevant for comparison among different solutions and which aspects determine only the final absolute value (see 41st IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference, St. Louis, USA, p.704-9, 1991). Some guidelines for the evaluation of spectral efficiency in some simple scenarios, taking into account CDMA schemes and their typical characteristics, are presented. Particularly, the results are focused on the identification of the most efficient systems according to Shannon theory
