Abstract :
Simulation technology enables product and process designers to evaluate designs in increasingly realistic and complex settings. Computer simulation has been around in many forms for over 30 years, although only with the invention of the workstation has simulation become widely accepted by so many different users. Most engineers have had some exposure to simulation but, in today´s environment, many people who had never heard of simulation in the past, are using computer simulation to decrease costs and increase work flow. Simulation is a cost effective way to show and study designs of new factories, hospitals, businesses, theories and ideas using quantitative methods that help to show the decision maker the best, most cost efficient alternatives.
