  • Abstract
Packet reservation multiple access (PRMA) is a TDM-based multiple access protocol for third generation mobile radio systems capable of a accommodating synchronous and asynchronous traffic and enabling efficient spectrum usage. However, a traffic performance analysis of the protocol has been only carried out for speech traffic. The analysis is extended to a traffic mixture comprising speech and data applications. Error detection/recovery functionalities as exercised at the data link layer are considered
