  • Abstract
The planetary traction drive speed device with self-actuating characteristic is a smooth-running, quiet and high efficiency device. The basic structure has been presented and the power transmission principle was analyzed. The transmission characteristics, such as the speed ratio, traction coefficients and efficiency, have been discussed. Theoretical calculations have been proved by the simulation in ADAMS. The results indicate that the influence factors of the desired traction coefficients are the ideal speed ratio, the radiuses of planet rollers and the position of planet assembly support shaft. The actual speed ratio, traction coefficients and efficiency are mainly determined by the slide-to-roll ratio.
