Abstract
This study takes the conceptual life cycle approach and attempts to apply it within one company to compare the environmental performance of two products which fulfil an identical role - to supply the internal connections in an automotive fusebox. In the introduction of a new concept to a company and its first application to a selected product, it draws a number of conclusions about the design process and discovers if a conceptual analysis proves useful
