Abstract :
We have simulated a circular waveguide loaded with double-negative metamaterials (DNMs) and single-negative metamaterials (SNMs) characterized by the Drude and Lorentz models respectively. The simulation results clearly show a passband in a desired frequency range in which both the permittivity and permeability of the DNMs have negative real parts, whereas a stopband appears for the SNMs cases. The results presented here can provide a foundation on the experimental verification of the reversed Cherenkov radiation (RCR) emitted by charged particles moving in a circular waveguide partially filled with the DNMs.
