  • Abstract
A low-redundancy DC-offset compensation method to achieve high-quality burst mode operated direct conversion receivers is proposed and studied. DC-offset is compensated for by using a short known-symbol sequence in preamble. It is demonstrated by computer simulations that five redundant symbols can drastically suppress DC-offset with the DC-offset ratio up to 40% with degradation of only 1.5 dB. It is also demonstrated that, if the DC-offset ratio to be compensated for is small, only three redundant symbols can sufficiently suppress the DC-offset
