Abstract
A novel Ultra Wideband (UWB) antenna on crossed double taper-like substrates is presented in this paper. By etching L-shaped slots from the patch printed on the substrates, the proposed antenna has features of dual notched bands. Moreover, it is omnidirectional in H-plane and keeps its dominated radiating beam at about 8=45° in E-plane among the whole band. It operates from 2.6GHz to 12GHz with low Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR<;2), excluding two notch-bands of 3.65GHz and 5.5GHz with bandwidths of 600 MHz and 800 MHz respectively. The proposed antenna has been successfully simulated, fabricated and measured, showing stable gains, good VSWR characteristics and radiation performances.
