GIS based distribution simulation and analysis

Electric utilities are extending the value of their geographic information systems (GIS) implementations in many innovative ways. One area of expansion is the enabling of power distribution analysis from with the GIS or directly from data extracted from the GIS. This paper presents a discussion of the environment leading to GIS based distribution analysis. It also presents required aspects of any embedded or integrated analysis. Finally the four models for GIS based analysis are presented
