Abstract :
In this paper, the author summarizes the development and research on diesel intake port, and brings forward the target and the meaning of researching on the reverse design process of the intake port in 4-valve diesel engine; builds up the three dimensional geometric model of the intake port of a 4-valve diesel engine via reverse engineering; simulates the flow status in double ports (helical port and directional port)-valve-cylinder by using the CFD software FIRE; produces the cavity block of intake port core by the method of Numerical Controlling Machining; verifies the CFD calculation result and the steady flow test result of the core box and cylinder head, and draws a conclusion that the three show good agreement with each other, which shows the feasibility of the RE/CFD/CAM design process for intake port.
