Abstract
In orthogonal frequency division multiplexing mobile communication systems employing an intercarrier interference self-cancellation scheme, the pilot subcarriers employed for channel estimation appear in pairs and thus are nonuniformly distributed. A new channel estimation method based on pilot pairs and a polynomial reconstruction technique are proposed. The idea could be extended to more flexible pilot subcarrier arrangements, allowing rejection of unreliable received pilot signals in practice
