  • Abstract
    To provide a friendly interface, but also complete freedom in datapaths, an original function-oriented application based on a relational model is developed. Patient information is spread in different records according to functions: from clinical history to diagnostic and interventional procedures. Data are collected while generated and clinical reports are provided. Additionally data produced by Holter and stress-test electrocardiogram analyzers are directly uploaded. More than 140 forms and reports are available. The application is designed over a structured data entry. Users view records along any `route´ dynamically linking all data. Decision support procedures are also embedded. Graphic libraries integrate the report layout. The application runs on a microcomputer network and uses both real and protected CPU modes. Multiuser control is also implemented
