Abstract
The vertically polarized radar pulses coconut trees vegetation attenuation at 5.3 GHz is investigated by a series of different tests from 3 km to 30 km away the transmitter near HaiKou city of HaiNan province of China with very low grazing angles in winter. The uniform path loss (UPL) model is adopted and verified as an effective method for radar pulse vegetation attenuation theoretical analyses by taking the modified radar pulses illumination area as the mean transmission cross section.
