Abstract
In this paper, we present a novel approach based on term rewriting techniques to implement computationally intensive systems on a reconfigurable array of basic computing elements. Such systems can be found in many applications in digital signal processing, robotics control and computer graphics. The computing elements we use are based on the CORDIC algorithm. Our approach intends to produce an implementation using a minimal number of CORDIC processing elements, and can be readily integrated into a computer-aided design environment
