Abstract :
Radio link configurations of broadband wireless access systems are discussed to give a perspective of the different systems. First point-to-point and point-to-multipoint systems are compared to see in what situations the latter has the advantage over the former. Then the configurations of up- and downlinks of the point-to-multipoint systems are classified and compared to one another. Finally the performances of several modulation schemes are compared from the viewpoint of the applicability to the broadband wireless access system, and a brief discussion is also made of the adaptive modulation scheme
