Abstract
A technique is developed for estimating the impact of inhomogeneous ground upon the performance of an HF antenna. In this technique, the antenna currents are calculated for a representative homogeneous ground and the effects of inhomogeneities are found from the solution to an integral equation. An approximate solution procedure is developed and is used to investigate the impact of a variety of ground screens upon antenna performance.
