Abstract
A broad wall slot with an offset from the center line and a tilt with respect to the axis, called a compound slot, has found applications in missile systems. The analysis of compound slots is rather involved, and, hence the design of compound slot arrays in the past relied on experimentally measured data. The author analyzes a compound slot radiating element and presents some numerical results. The normalized resonant length, backward and forward scattered TE/sub 10/ mode amplitude (b/sub 10/, c/sub 10/), and phase are shown for the case in which all the elements have an offset of 0.15" from the center line of the waveguide. Also shown are the complex coefficients of the expansion modes for the aperture magnetic currents.<>
