Abstract :
The aim of this study is to map Tasmania land cover with the mapping unit of 30m and make preparations for future large area mapping. Tasmania was selected as the study area, which is an Australian island and state. The proposed method could reduce both the conflicts in overlap areas, and the requirements on data acquisition date. The overall accuracy and Kappa coefficient for 2000 year image classification result are 75.50% and 0.7175, while 79.80% and 0.7656 for 2010 year.
