Abstract
Sub-ontology, as the name states, is a subset of an ontology tailored for a specific domain. The main work on sub-ontology derivation was initially proposed by Wouters and later extended by Flahive, where they proposed a number of sub-ontology extraction methods. These sub-ontology extraction methods were called sub-ontology optimization schemes. In this paper, we develop a visual view for users to adopt sub-ontology extraction methods, with a particular aim of providing users a front-end tool to perform a particular sub-ontology extraction. A full implementation and evaluation of the system are an on-going process.
