Abstract
Results are presented of an analysis of the simultaneous occurrence of rainy events in pairs of sites variously spaced. This work was performed with the double goal of determining the actual probability of joint rain condition in two generic sites (design-oriented approach) and of analyzing the spatial correlation of the rain structure (model-oriented approach). The actual coupling of the rain events in the two sites depends on the length of the compared time intervals. To shed light on the relationship among different time bases, the analysis has been carried on with regard to various time intervals. Some fundamental conclusions regarding the dependence index are presented.<>
