Integrating Video Streaming from Heterogeneous Sources in Mobile Devices

Thanks to technological advances, there exist many different devices with cameras in our environment. Among them, the mobile devices, which offer the ability to display multimedia resources from the palm of the hands, and even to act as video sources. However, the heterogeneity of devices makes difficult the multimedia integration within the systems. This problem is the focus of this document. Our proposal integrates different video resources, such as IP cameras, webcams or Aibo cameras. In turn, we develop the video viewers for PDA and mobile phones, emphasizing the portability in handheld devices. Finally we present the techniques for generating video streaming from the cameras of mobile devices.
