  • Abstract
The approach of constructivism is based on the philosophy that knowledge is actively constructed by the learners by using their prior knowledge. The outcome based curricula and pedagogies aligned with Bloom´s cognitive levels play vital role in improving meta-cognitive thinking of the learners. Constructivism approach is being explored for the training of new hires at Mahindra Satyam. In this work, we discuss upon exploring constructivism, integrating with outcome based course plan, teaching and assessment approaches. The outcomes of the learning effectiveness are measured in terms of learning indicator, the course feedback from the participants, and feedback from the respective business unit evaluators. The utility of combining outcome based course design and case study approach enables the facilitator to create active environment and assess the strengths and weakness of the participants in the process of the learning. The approach also found to be effective in creating real project development environment akin to business units. It is observed that present approach is effective as the participants could perform well in the respective projects.
