Abstract
The paper presents an efficient method for performance analysis of slotted code-division multiple-access (CDMA) networks over band-limited channels. The method employs optimal second-order Chebyshev interpolations to simplify an improved Gaussian approximation for packet success probability (PSP), taking into account bit-to-bit error dependence , the variance of the multiple-access interference and error-correction coding. Effective network throughput is then calculated from the PSP. Numerical simulation results show that the method can compute network throughput significantly more accurately than one based on a standard Gaussian approximation, yet the computational costs of the former are only slightly higher.
