Abstract :
A description is given of a flush-mounted car phone antenna. The antenna is mounted in a circular hole. The disk is attached to the center feed pin. Thin short pins are annularly located around the feed. The key parameters in the mounting are the diameter and the depth of the hold which accommodates the antenna. Characteristics of the flush-mounted antenna, that is, the resonant frequency, bandwidth and radiation pattern, are measured and are compared with the original planar antenna. Performance degradation due to rain is estimated.<>
