Abstract :
During the past few years distributed wireless sensor networks have been the focus of considerable research for both military and civil applications. We focus on the event tracking applications. In many event tracking applications of wireless sensor networks such as war field surveillance and chemical gas cloud detection the event we are considering is continuously moving with time thus triggers many sensor nodes simultaneously. This causes congestion over the sink node. We developed an algorithm which utilizes multi-sink environment to avoid congestion. And also it provides energy efficiency by selecting minimum number of sensor nodes which are to be active and others kept in sleep state. We also perform simulation experiments to analyse the performance of the proposed algorithm.
