Abstract
This paper discusses the research and development of an alternative technique for conducting high level electromagnetic (EM) clearance testing of aircraft platforms concentrating on the HF and VHF frequency bands. Measurements have been carried out to cover the frequency range 10 kHz-400 MHz. Aircraft clearance is at present carried out employing various techniques, with high level whole aircraft clearance testing carried out employing free field illumination test techniques. Due to the ever increasing EM environment, the DCI technique is being researched as an alternative more efficient technique for carrying out high level clearance of future aircraft platforms
