Abstract
In this paper, a novel spiral-channel micro-filter with high throughput and compact layout, taking advantages of the centrifugation effect, has been developed. Numerical results indicate that the flux, which penetrates through the filtration wall, in a circle channel device is 2.25 times than that in the straight channel filter at the same conditions. The higher flow velocity allows higher filtration efficiency. The experimental results show that large particles are completely separated from original mixtures, and small particles are remarkably enriched by several filtration cycles.
