GMMS: global model management system-a conceptual design framework for model management systems for distributed decision support systems

A conceptual design framework is presented for enhancing end-users´ knowledge concerning models and model usage in the distributed decision-support system (DDSS) environment. The DDSS concept is flawed unless models built and validated in one area of an organization can be correctly applied in other sections. To aid model users, model meta-data-dictionaries are suggested that include builder names, function/purpose, liaison persons, model alternatives, owners, scope and limitations, and useful life.<>
