Abstract :
Ambient level air pollution is the major cause of global warming which is evident in existence. Industries, man made machines, households and natural calamities such as volcanic eruptions are some of the factors. We present an overview and analysis by which wireless sensor network (WSN) technology could be applied for a long-duration and large-scale environmental monitoring. We had deployed a high-end PICDEMZ Board with PIC18LF4620 microcontroller interfaced with sensors. We have also utilized Microchip provided ZigBee Enabled Network Analyzer (ZENA) for ZigBee protocol stack configuration and Real Time Network monitoring of packet data. Thereby the obtained Pollutant data are subjected for mathematical analysis and tested using standards like CEMS and IEEE1451 for optimality. Thus we had propose a novel pervasive monitoring system which aims to be transparent, user friendly, plug & play configurable and fault tolerant.
