Abstract :
Sensitivity to nodalization is a major obstacle in using thermal-hydraulics (T/H) computer codes, which are important tools for simulating the complex behaviors of nuclear power plants. By exploiting new concepts of computational intelligence, a design for an intelligent agent called Expert Nodalization Assistant (ENA) has been developed and presented here. ENA is capable of providing an optimal nodalization scheme based on the physical reactor system input given by the user. ENA also features capabilities for analyzing the output of T/H codes
