Abstract :
The wear estimation of the friction materials used for ultrasonic motors is strongly required to predict the life of ultrasonic motors from a design point of view. However, the wear evaluation of friction material is complicated since the friction condition is not constant. In this report, the wear mechanism is simplified and modeled to apply it to ultrasonic motors. The life of an ultrasonic motor can be estimated using a wear evaluation chart presented by our proposed expressions in this study
