  • Abstract
The study is based on the fact that students are the customers of an educational institution and their satisfaction is essential for their retention. Hence the sustained growth and development of the institution depends on the satisfaction of students [1]. The publicity of an educational institution is mainly through the `word of mouth´ of the students and their parents. Hence evaluation of the satisfaction level [2][3] is important to know the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat of the institution, which may lead to better educational administration. This study can be used to evaluate the satisfaction level of students of any institution and to put forward suggestions to improve the overall satisfaction. A method to evaluate the satisfaction level of students in an institution is suggested here. The method used in the study can be termed as `Handovered-Questionnaire´ in which a set of questions relevant to the study is handed over to the students with a request to return it, duly filled in. The sample [4] students are selected by Proportional Stratified Sampling. The study revealed the satisfaction level of students about the quality of instruction, facilities available, fee-structure, course syllabi, attitude of the staff members, examination system, extracurricular activities, placement assistance, campus of the institution, etc. It is found that the satisfaction level of students strongly depends on their expectation about the facilities.
