Abstract :
A graphics-based data analysis system was developed for the review, in near real time, of output from a prototype gravity gradiometer survey system (GGSS). Analysis of data from initial GGSS tests had identified the need for additional data monitoring to supplement the associated baseline procedures built into the GGSS. Shakedown exercises of the PC-based data review system (DRS) took place during GGSS Rail Garrison Peacekeeper testing in the winter of 1988. Based on the review of nearly 200 h of data stored on over 100 magnetic tapes, DRS findings indicate that sufficient subsets of data were collected along the 560-mile route between Albuquerque, New Mexico and Dodge City, Kansas to support the subsequent estimation of gravity disturbances
