Abstract :
Vibration characteristics of high-frequency longitudinal-complex transverse vibration systems with a supporting flange which can be installed a conventional ceramic capillary for ultrasonic ball bonding are studied. A longitudinal-complex transverse vibration bonding system consists of two driving longitudinal system 7.0 mm in diameter crossed at right angles, a complex transverse vibration rod 7.0 mm in diameter and a transverse vibration welding tip. The ceramic capillary of 9 mm and 6.9 mm projecting length vibrates at 960 kHz with two and three vibration nodes along its length. Stainless steel welding chip of 3.9 mm projecting length vibrates at 940 kHz with three vibration nodes along its length. The projecting length is very short, but it is available for wire bonding using this system
