Abstract
The application of the ray-tracing technique in combination with the asymptotic method Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD) for an analysis of the electromagnetic (EM) wave propagation in urban areas is presented. The frequency of the study is in the X-frequency band from 8 to 12 GHz but can be applied for Ku-band and a three-dimensional model of the geometry is proposed. The transmitter and receiver can be separated to present both bistatic and monostatic configurations. At the end of the work, we evaluate the amplitude and the phase of the far field diffracted by urban scenarios.
