Abstract :
This paper presents the results of selected R&D projects, performed at Research and Productivity Council (RPC) since 1992. The focus of these projects was the monitoring of critical parameters in CANDU nuclear reactors, such as flow, leaks in valves, corrosion rate or pipe distortion. All the projects were generated by current station maintenance needs. To accomplish the projects, state-of-the-art equipment, not available off-the-shelf, was designed and constructed at RPC, using virtual instrumentation technology. Further development of this novel instrumentation, signal processing and computer technology are anticipated
