  • Abstract
    This paper presented the design of a novel intelligent warehouse system for energy meter storage, named Intelligent and Agile Warehouse System(IAWS). The IAWS aims to improve operation efficiency, increase the scanning accuracy and achieve unmanned operation. To this purpose, it is equipped with the Auto Container Stacker, the Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV), the Portable Terminal, the Manipulator, and other automatic equipments. Different kinds of goods in standard shelves are allocated in this warehouse. AGVs are in charge of transporting the goods to the destination. The Auto Container Stacker is designed for container stacking and data collecting from the barcodes and RFID tags on the energy meters and containers. AGVs take the containers to the target position guided by the magnetic navigation system. The warehouse management system(WMS) is responsible for inbound and outbound management, as well the mission optimization and dispatching. The system is confirmed to be feasible in the aspects of both technology and cost by filed-experiment.
