  • Abstract
Development of time and frequency domain feature extraction techniques and wavelet transform methods to detect scale deposits in petroleum pipelines from top-side ultrasonic measurements are presented. The potential of ultrasonic imaging for pipeline internal surveys for scale deposits have been demonstrated and advances in identifying deposits in situ by means of acoustic measurements are also presented. Results indicate the feasibility of monitoring scale nucleation
