  • Abstract
    Newly developed design method of the piezoelectric transformer for high voltage source is described. In the method, high power characteristics are utilized for estimating the efficiency and the voltages and electric powers at the input and output terminals, and also the capacitance component of the load impedance is considered. The authors already investigated the high power characteristics on many kinds of piezoelectric ceramics having various compositions. High power characteristics means the vibrational velocity dependence of the piezoelectric and material constants, including quality factor and the temperature rise, of the piezoelectric ceramic transducer
