Abstract :
We propose novel design of tube-type micropump powered by the contractile force of heart muscle cells, which beat autonomously. We succeeded in prototyping the driving part of the micropump and could observe flow through it when applied mechanical force externally. Additionally, we observed that heart muscle cells were immobilized on surface of the thin membrane tube and confirmed deformation of the tube by the contractile force of heart muscle cells.
