Abstract :
This paper studies dynamics of the delta modulators for PWM control of inverters. First, we introduce normal form circuit equation and 1-D return map. We then clarify that the system exhibits nonperiodic behavior in wide parameter region. Second, we apply compulsory switching to the circuit. This switching can stabilize the operation in some wide parameter region for controlling inverters and can cause chaotic phenomena in other parameter region.
