Abstract :
A study on applying the discrete pseudo-Wigner distribution to classification of the plasma cortisol short-time series of two disease categories is presented. The autocomponent selection in the Wigner distribution has been studied in regard to feature selection for the pattern recognition. Three energy density features are selected along with the mean level of each time series. These features allow a simple linear classification of the available data. The results show a great potential for using Wigner spectra for feature extraction
