Abstract
Hydraulic simulations on system level are performed for Common Rail injection systems to evaluate the transient behavior of an injection quantity sensor as well as an injection amount indicator. Experimentally determined injection timings were found to be in good agreement with calculated values. Pressure oscillations occurring after terminating the injection pulse and predicted theoretically could be verified directly in the nozzle for the first time.
