Abstract
This paper focuses on the design of control architectures for RF (Radio Frequency) transceivers used to control the internal and external, analog and digital modules. Due to various influences, which mainly concern the partitioning and interfacing between the baseband and the RF transceiver, the complexity of these architectures increases continuously. This fact and the short time to market pressure for wireless products lead to the demand for a design with maximum flexibility and reusability. These requirements are carefully taken into account in the novel architectural approach presented in this work.
