Abstract :
A flexible and efficient programming model for NoC-Based MPSoC, MMPI (Multiprocessor Message Passing Interface) is proposed. To improve the efficiency of design exploration, MMPI separates parallel-programming from the iterative exploration process by introducing a “mapping file” mechanism and defining a layered communication protocol stack. Both spacial parallelism and temporal parallelism are supported to improve resource utilization and performance. The results demonstrate that MMPI achieves small memory and execution footprints, and resolves the problems of task loading and message reordering efficiently.
