Abstract :
The impact of the dispersion map on 10-Gbit/s single-channel transmission was experimentally investigated. The transmission performance was significantly varied with the dispersion map. By using the optimum dispersion map, 40-Gbit/s transmission over 10,200 km has been achieved.
