Environmental education: A new perspective on sustainable development of ecotourism

As an inherent constituent of ecotourism, environmental education is of great significance to the sustainable development of ecotourism. However, existing studies pay little attention on environmental education and the improvement of people´s environmental awareness. Based on relevant literatures, this paper aims to construct an environmental education model for ecotourism. It engaged in the analytical research on such aspects as the rationale of the environmental education model, its objects and target system, its product development, the evaluation of its effectiveness and the guarantee mechanism for its implementation. Finally, this paper concludes that the exploration on the environmental education model is an important area in the study of the sustainable development of ecotourism.
