Abstract :
The characteristics of a new wideband inverted trapezoidal microstrip patch antenna fed by uneven I-beam are analyzed using a full wave analysis simulator. The wideband antenna performance greatly depends on the design parameters which have been used to control the antenna resonance frequencies and bandwidths. The proposed antenna is constructed on glass-epoxy FR-4 substrate of thickness 1.6 mm and relative permittivity 4.6. Numerical results are presented of the different antenna design parameter radiation characteristics, including return loss, radiation pattern and gain, with respect to changes on the design parameters.
